One of my strengths is designing programmes of study at all levels within the Higher Education (HE) sector. I have experience of taking best practice from the creative industries to both create relevant courses and enhance existing programmes. I am committed to building sustainable programmes of study that integrate traditional teaching frameworks with new technologies, new modes of thinking, and a range of teaching methods. When designing new programmes I would reflect on the formative and summative assessment requirements of the institution and the students, with a view to incorporating where appropriate, peer review processes, formal and informal feedback opportunities, and student led assessment.
I am familiar with institutional validation processes and have experience of sitting on validation committees at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I took an active role in preparing material for QAA inspections at Glasgow School of Art (GSA). At GSA I contributed towards the implementation of cross-school programmes of study and the development of new course and pathways at postgraduate level. Alongside these course developments I organised and managed the visiting lecturer programme where academics and professionals were invited to contribute to the taught elements of the MPhil in 2D/3D Motion Graphics and the Masters in Animation courses.
