As an artist I am interested in considering the alternate histories that remain submerged under the constructed narrative of modern society. The work is driven by the need to construct narratives, stories and a political discourse that questions the nature of our society. I combine a range of aesthetic languages to explore these themes and adopt diverse approaches, which range from traditional fine art practice to digital media.
As an art and design educator I have always been committed to enhancing my own practice by considering theoretical approaches to teaching and learning. My teaching philosophy encompasses the principles of supporting students to think creatively and learn independently. I always strive to ensure that my students develop themselves as professionals that can bring critical self-awareness to their practice.
