I have considerable experience of supporting and guiding staff and students in a variety of academic and research contexts as well as recent experience of taking a leadership role in community art inititaives in Dumfries and Galloway.

At the Digital Design Studio in the  Glasgow School of Art (GSA) I supervised research degree students undertaking M.Phil study. I supported Masters students on the 1 year M.Des in Animation course, providing technical and aesthetic guidance and leading them through their projects. I completed a PG Cert in Supervision in 2009 to enhance my practice. At GSA I also supported a new member of the teaching staff during her probation year and continued to lead the teaching activities. I organised, managed and supported the visiting lecturer programme where academics and professionals were invited to contribute to the taught elements of the course. At GSA I led on the Capital Bid process, evaluating hardware and software and negotiating with suppliers.

Outside the academic sector I have an active role in the creative arts field in Dumfries and Galloway, taking the lead in establishing a new community arts group – Creative Whithorn Association and was involved in establishing the Wigtownshire Arts Hub, now part of DG Unlimited. I am a board member on the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival and am leading on establishing an animation and film festival in 2015 at the Grainstore in Stranraer. I have worked to establish an independant art gallery which has recently been selected to act as a Spring Fling Exhibition venue. I am currently working with two other people to establish a creative online journal – which aims to provide a discourse on art, aesthetics, philosophy, politics and creative writing.
